Community Education Partnerships

Community Education Partnerships (CEP) is a nonprofit that has spent 15 years providing free tutoring and academic support to K-12 students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in the Bay Area. We match our volunteers with a student according to schedule preferences, subject matter, and language needs.

To be a tutor you must:
* Be 16 or older. Minor tutors are required to have a parent or guardian go through the application process with them.
* Be a California resident and willing to complete a Live Scan background check.
* Complete a Mandated Reporter Training.
* Commit at least one hour per week to tutoring for at least six months.
* Adhere to all safety protocols.
For some volunteers, depending on where you volunteer, may require a TB test/screening.

Currently in need of in-person volunteers in the San Francisco, San Lorenzo, and Oakland area. We currently have several SF students who primarily/only speak Spanish, so please let us know if you speak Spanish.
