JFCS’ volunteer programs support and strengthen families and individuals of all ages. In addition to serving those in need, we are committed to promoting a connection to community and fulfillment among our volunteers.
JFCS serves as an extended family to the 65,000 people we serve annually, and volunteers are a very critical part of this family.
Our volunteers’ acts of loving kindness include bringing chicken soup to people who are disabled or ill, mentoring youth, visiting seniors, welcoming newcomers, delivering groceries, celebrating the holidays with isolated members of our community, assisting families in crisis, and providing compassion and companionship for the ill and elderly. No matter their specific roles or tasks, volunteers extend a human touch, serve as vital and meaningful links to the greater community, and enrich the lives of those we serve.
Volunteering with JFCS provides you opportunities to connect intergenerationally and interculturally, as well as with peers; gain valuable skills; and be a part of tikkun olam –repairing the world.
