Tandem™ has been providing early literacy and family engagement programming to the Bay Area for 13 years. We believe that if we are ever to close the opportunity gap, we have to do it by sparking joy, and everyone must be involved.

That includes you!

Join us by participating in – or hosting! – one of our extremely popular volunteer opportunities. We offer ways for individuals, as well as groups, to give back. Get a group of friends or coworkers together and build better futures for Bay Area families! Our group opportunities are fun and family-friendly; activities range from adapting books for children with special needs to making character blocks that children will use to practice vocabulary and storytelling in the classroom. We’ll even come to your home or community venue!

You can also host a book drive at your school, workplace, or just among your friends. We provide links to online wish-lists of books that reinforce specific early literacy skills so it’s just point, click, pay and the books are delivered directly to our office. Zero hassle, big impact!
