Heavenly Valley-Skyline Ski Patrol

Heavenly Area Ski Patrol, has been in existence since 1960 and is part of the National Ski Patrol system. Joining Heavenly Area Ski Patrol involves becoming a member of the National Ski Patrol System of America. National Ski Patrol (NSP) is a federally chartered non-profit organization. The NSP is a network of volunteer Patrols throughout the United States with strong international ties. NSP is divided into Divisions, with Heavenly Area Ski Patrol falling into the Far West Division (FWD) . Our members patrol at Heavenly Ski Resort . Heavenly Area’s members each belong a a service patrol grouped by geographic region.

Within the Far West Division, Heavenly Area Ski Patrol belongs to the Eastern Sierra Region, which also includes the other Lake Tahoe volunteer Alpine and Nordic patrols. Within the Heavenly Area Patrol, there are four volunteer alpine (National) patrols serving this vast mountain.

The patrols and the respective geographic areas where their members reside are as follows:

Heavenly Area Service Patrols

Carson – Nevada
Golden Gate – Primarily the East Bay and North Bay
Heavenly Valley – Sacramento to South Lake Tahoe.
Skyline – Primarily South Bay and the Peninsula of the San Francisco Bay region, but with active members in Chicago, New York, San Luis Obispo, Seattle, Australia, and Thailand
