The Volunteer Center of San Francisco

The Volunteer Center of San Francisco

Connecting Resources. People. Organizations.

A pioneer in the field of volunteerism, The Volunteer Center connects individuals, nonprofits and businesses with opportunities and resources needed to support local communities.

Founded in 1946 by the Junior League of San Francisco, then called The Volunteer Bureau of San Francisco, it was the city’s central agency for volunteer placement.

In 2004, The Volunteer Center of San Francisco expanded regionally as The Volunteer Center Serving San Francisco and San Mateo Counties, launching online access to resources in San Mateo for the first time.

Today, The Volunteer Center works closely with agencies to provide thousands of opportunities for volunteers of all ages. We offer a wide range of resources, consulting and training services, and provide a strong network for organizations in the area. We are here to strengthen and improve local communities through these main channels.

The Volunteer Center is governed by a voluntary board of directors representing a distinguished group of professionals in the fields of business, education and civic service.

We are managed by a group of dedicated and experienced staff, as well as volunteers.

The information above can be found on the official website of The Volunteer Center of San Francisco. For more details about the organization and to find out how you can volunteer, please visit their website: http://www.thevolunteercenter.net
