Lead Volunteers Needed: Help Turn Empty Apartments Into Welcoming Homes
It takes a village to turn an empty apartment into a warm, dignified home. Welcoming Home is a volunteer‑run nonprofit that furnishes homes for individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness in Marin and Sonoma Counties.
We are urgently seeking Lead Volunteers to guide this work from start to finish for each “Welcoming Day.”
What does a Lead Volunteer do?
Lead roles are perfect for organized, compassionate people who like to coordinate projects and see immediate impact.
Home Lead
As a Home Lead, you will:
•       Attend an initial visit with the individual or family to understand their needs and preferences.
•       Help vet proposed furniture donations for quality, style, and fit for the space.
•       Collect items that fit in an SUV or truck and store them short‑term before Welcoming Day.
•       Make sure all needed donations are secured and ready.
•       Supervise the setup of one apartment on Welcoming Day so the family walks into a beautiful, fully furnished home.
